MedLab
MedLab Central is part of a network providing service to both the community and public hospitals.
We employ over 140 staff, from pathologists to the newest trainees, who work as a cohesive unit to produce specimens from over 32,000 patients per month. As a fully computerised IANZ accredited laboratory, Medlab maintains a service of the highest quality using the latest technology available.
The service we provide from the Masterton Medical site is part of a courier and communication network within the Wairarapa. Phlebotomy staff at the Masterton rooms are well trained and experienced. Their focus is on quality care and service for every patient.
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 4.40 pm and Saturday mornings 9.00am to noon. At other times samples may be left with Masterton Medical staff. We are closed on Public Holidays.
Appointments are not usually necessary. Glucose Tolerance Tests and Skin Allergy tests have special requirements — please contact laboratory staff for information to arrange appointments for these tests.
