Masterton Medical / Chapel St Family Doctors merger

On 1 April 2010, Masterton Medical and Chapel St Family Doctors merged.

We recognise that more patients will increase demand on our services and facilities.
So we have made the following changes:
  • More time available for routine appointments weekdays from 8.00am, during lunchtime and 5.00pm-7.00pm

  • More nurse and reception telephonists

  • A second premises for Care Plus and nurse-led clinics, call centre staff and admin staff - from 15 March 2010:

    - 2nd Floor, Work and Income Building, 49 Lincoln Road, Masterton

    - Parking for Care Plus patients will be provided behind the building

  • Additional disability car parks in front of the Masterton Medical Building;  other new parking arrangements are being negotiated

  • A new telephone system and upgrade of computer systems

  • Expanded pharmacy and laboratory to provide more clinical, waiting and retail space

What else does this mean for patients?
Existing Masterton Medical patients can continue to see their own doctor.  Appointments can be made as before.  Routine appointments will be available at more times each weekday.

Chapel Street Family Doctors patients can, if they choose, enrol as patients of Masterton Medical.

Two of the Chapel Street doctors have moved to Masterton Medical.  They are:

  • Dr Ann Quaghebeur

  • Dr Liz Falkner
If Chapel Street patients have not enrolled with another medical centre by 1 April 2010, their notes will be transferred to Masterton Medical and can be transferred from there at a later date.

Masterton-based Chapel St Family Doctors patients of Dr Ximena Tobias should enrol with a GP in Masterton - either at Masterton Medical or at the Whaiora service.
